This is my bike. There are many like it but this one is mine.
Hello there, This website is the culmination of a year's pondering whether to do it or not, and the idea for a blog/website came about with the arrival of the 'bike', four years ago.
As the children had got to an age where I thought I could be away from the house for at least a couple of hours without the world coming to an end, I needed to improve my fitness as my mid 40's were fast approaching. So I started doing a lot of walking which was great and got me to a base level of fitness which wasn't a coach potato, but I wanted to do something more intensive. Running had never really been my favourite type of exercise and the brief brush with a gym prior to the arrival of the children had put me off re-visiting that experience. Now a bicycle that would be cool, it would extend the range beyond where my walks could take me in a reasonable time, as a boy I had always enjoyed cycling with friends and to and from school, etc etc. So the decision to buy the N+1 bicycle came to fruition, and after much research on the Internet I bought the 'bike'. The bike is in fact a Voodoo Hoodoo, Not a very expensive bike but it would be my bike. Ok until the N+1 issue arose again and we now have added a Cube Sting HPA 120 29er and then a Mango Point AR to the fold over the last couple of years.
We live in Hampshire which has a fair mix of sleepy country lanes, bridle paths and some footpaths which stand in for the sexier sounding 'single track', which by January 2017 we have criss-crossed, and clocked up over 7500 kilometres...
