A beautiful blue sky greated me this morning for a ride out to Collingbourne Wood and back. Rode on the Cube 29er with the Jone's H bars and it was very pleasant, the bars give you a good selection of hand positions over a more tradition mountain bike handle bar. So out of Andover via Anna valley, Monxton, Weyhill, Appleshaw and Biddesden. Through Collingbourne Woods via Blackmore Lane and Water Lane which eventually brings you out onto the Chutes Causeway at Scot's Poor. Returned via the Chutes Causeway to the Hampshire Gate and back down the long descent into Clanville. Onto Weywhill and back into Andover on the cycle path which is adjacent to the A342. In total 41.5 kilometres in two hours and twenty three minutes.

A very smooth ride out this morning, the combination of oval chain ring with a new chain and cassette has improved the riding experience no end. Completed the short loop through Rde Rice, Abbots Ann and Anna Fields in fifty five minutes and achieved a personal best on one of the Strava segments the route takes in. Looking at the updates on Strava there had been a steady improvement over the last few attempts so was well pleased.
Replaced the Sram Cassette and Shimano Chain with a new Shimano Alivio HG300 9 Speed Cassette and Shimano XT HG93 9 Speed Chain no more chain jumping when under tension on the first outing.
