We had intended to do a little further than we did no the day, but the left hand pedal seized again as we passed Lockerley, so we had to limp home trying to find the flattest route, so that I did not put too much pressure on my knee. So we went back up the Test Way to Chilbolton and then home via the Clatfords. Climbing proved rather hard with the pedal offering a lot of additional resistance, but we made it back if not rather slower than usual. So once home, stripped the pedal and the bearings had completely failed. It makes you wonder, as we have several hybrid bikes in the house which still have their original pedals and have completed several thousand kilometres without any maintenance and are still running buttery smooth. So a new pair of pedals was ordered and we will see how they fair when they arrive.
So 56 kilometres in three hours and nineteen minutes with 320metres of ascent.
