Cold morning ride - the ice made a satisfying crunch as we crashed through the frozen puddles on the bridleways between Monxton and Weyhill. Cycled up to to Conholt Park and then back into Andover via the Roman Way which proved to be very very cut up and muddy. The Nobby Nic tyres which came as fitted really weren't up to the job, and the bike squirreled around, but we did notice the benefit of suspension front and rear as the Roman Way is a rather dumpy experience on a hardtail.

A new Mountain Bike for Christmas, having enjoyed riding the Voodoo Hoodoo 26inch Hard Tail, I decided to buy something completely different; the Cube Sting HPA 120 29, a rather long title for a 120mm full suspension 29er. It was bought in mind for more long day cross country events that I plan to do in 2015. So we did a shortish loop south of Andover, which consisted of the Clatfords, Red Rice, Kentboro, Monxton, Anna Valley and home. http://www.cubebikesnortheast.co.uk/
Chilly morning ride, south of Andover down the Test Way to Stockbridge, on to Houghton and then Broughton, before heading back through the Wallops and Grately and Monxton, Abbots Ann and Anna Valley. 45 Kilometres in two hours and thirty minutes. It was a cold, cold start to the morning, but we warmed up nicely and finished the ride sans gloves and jacket.
