Quick blast around Abbot's Ann and Grately to test out the Giant GSR Trekking since it's diet. Windy Day which proved an issue with the upright riding position. 26 Kilometres in 1 hour and 15 minutes, top speed of 34.9 km/h.
The Biggest issue I had was with the saddle which felt like you where sitting on a sofa. It will have to be changed before the event. Looking at possible solutions the simplest is a shim to allow me you use the seat post from the Mountain Bike, as the seat tube on the trekking bike is 30.8mm which appears to be an odd size.

Have entered the Thruxton 100 on the behalf of Action Medical Research for Children, which is going to be interesting: Flex your muscles on 100 miles of closed circuit heaven and push yourself to the limit on this unique charity cycling sportive at the awesome Thruxton Motorsport Circuit. The circuit offers one of the smoothest rides you’ll ever have and the perfect opportunity for you to register a PB for a 100 mile bike ride whilst raising funds for money to help sick babies and children. Fast and flat, no cars, one way traffic, great support throughout the weekend and just 42 laps between you and your goal. With a choice of four start times, there’s a time to suit everyone; so what are you waiting for? Sign up today! The only issue with this will be the choice of bicycle, as the mountain bike really isn't going to be the best choice so the old N+1 dilemma has raised it's head early than expected.
Another lovely summers morning and we covered 37 Kilometres in 2 hours 25 minutes, cycled a mixture of country lane and bridleway between Andover, Grateley, Nether Wallop and Longstock. At Kentboro found a very nice piece of single track which ran parallel to the bridleway which runs from Kentboro to Clatford Oakcuts. The bridleway is nice wide and well kept for about a half of it's length, it must run through some one else's land for the second half because it is not well looked after at all, being very over grown and rutted badly from motocross use it seems. The heavy rain yesterday had produced alot of standing water and in places alot of mud!!! Anyway as I got to the end of the bridleway, the front wheel found a big hole in the undergrowth and over I went. As I was not going at great speed, there wasn't much damage a few scratches and a nice big bruise on my right shin. I carried on and cycled up and down Church Lane into Longstock, it is a great fast descent into the Test Valley and pops you out by Longstock's Church unsurprisingly. Then along the bunny, which leads you across the River Test and onto the Test Way Trail, back north to Chilbolton Common. The wet windy weather yesterday had claimed another tree which had gone right across the trail, so the bike was man handled over and our ride continued home without further delay.
